STORIES WE'VE TOLD
Original productions, collaborative projects, and visual stories created through TreeOak Films.
THE SILENT VEIL | Short Film
Logline: In a world where everyone hides behind carefully crafted facades, fractured lives begin to unravel as buried pain, vulnerability, and human connection force the truth into the open.
Setting: Set within the heart of Sydney, surrounding Central Station, The Silent Veil captures the contrast between the city’s constant movement and the quiet emotional battles hidden beneath everyday life. From crowded streets and late-night trains to quiet cafés and empty park benches, the film explores the unseen humanity buried within a fast-moving modern world.
JASIA & GABRIEL | Short Film
Logline: Amid the destruction of 1941 Warsaw, two young siblings hide within the remains of their shattered home as the horrors of war close in around them, clinging to hope, innocence, and one another in the face of unimaginable fear.
Setting: Set in Warsaw, Poland, during 1941, amidst the devastation of World War II, the film unfolds within the ruins of a once warm family home now scarred by violence and fear. Surrounded by distant gunfire, collapsing streets, and the growing presence of soldiers outside, the confined space becomes both a sanctuary and a prison for Jasia and Gabriel as they desperately hold onto innocence in a world being torn apart.
HILLSIDE | Short Film
Logline: In the brutal isolation of the 1820s frontier, a hardened mountain man’s fragile sense of morality begins to unravel when a mysterious traveller seeks shelter at his remote campsite for the night.
Setting: Set deep within the harsh frontier wilderness of 1826, the film unfolds amongst dense forests, isolated campsites, and unforgiving mountain terrain far removed from civilisation. With law and society distant beyond the hills, the environment becomes both a physical and psychological prison, reflecting the paranoia, brutality, and loneliness consuming the men who inhabit it.
MISS ANNA"S LETTER | Short Film
Logline: While writing to her husband serving at war in 1914 England, a hopeful young woman slowly confronts the quiet grief and painful truth hidden beneath her carefully chosen words.
Setting: Set within rural England during the early years of World War I, the film unfolds inside the quiet stillness of Miss Anna’s home while the world beyond continues to descend into uncertainty and conflict. Surrounded by silence, fading warmth, and the lingering absence of her husband, the intimate environment reflects the emotional isolation carried by those waiting helplessly behind the frontlines.
THE INTERROGATION ROOM | Comedy Short
Logline: Inside a seemingly routine police interrogation, conflicting personalities, buried insecurities, and escalating absurdity collide as both interrogator and suspect slowly lose control of the room.
Setting: Taking place almost entirely within the confined atmosphere of a fictional interrogation room, the film uses claustrophobic framing, tension-filled dialogue, and dark comedic pacing to create an environment where every silence, reaction, and interruption shifts the balance of power.
